According to several reports, Busch was the strongest prospect of the two players in the Dodgers farm system and may contribute at the major league level for the Cubs during the 2024 season.

Known as the third-best prospect in the Dodgers system, Busch may have the most impact of the two prospects.

He played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels and made his MLB debut in 2023 with the Dodgers. He was also one of the top prospects for the 2019 Major League Baseball draft and was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 31st overall pick, notes his bio.

Career Highlights:

Busch was selected as the organization’s Minor League Player of the Year after hitting .323 with 27 home runs and 90 RBI in 98 games for Oklahoma City, helping them win the Pacific Coast League (PCL) championship. He was honored after the season as the MVP and Top Prospect of the PCL.

Busch’s bio adds he played in 27 games in the majors, with 13 games at third base, four at first, one at second and eight at designated hitter. He hit .167 with two homers and seven RBI.

The Cubs are hoping Busch is a prospect who could impact the Major League team this season with his high upside and great potential. (Information courtesy Michael Busch bio)
