Chicago Bears acquired former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Nick Foles

With only six remaining picks left for the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears acquired quarterback Nick Foles via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fourth-round compensatory pick on Wednesday, March 18.

According to the league office, the Bears have not met with any free agents or traded players since the COVID-19 outbreak.

Foles, 31, and former Super Bowl MVP back in 2017, will compete with Bears starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky for his 2020-21 NFL season starting job.

According to Foles bio, the quarterback has appeared in 58 NFL games while compiling a record of 26-22 in 48 starts over eight seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (2012-2014, 2017-2018), Los Angeles Rams (2015), Kansas City Chiefs (2016), and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2019).

Standing 6-foot-6 and 243 pounds, Foles has managed to complete 61.8 percent of his throws, for 11,901 yards. This includes a career line of 71 touchdowns, 35 interceptions, and a respectable 88.2 passer rating.

Foles led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win over the highly favored New England Patriots in 2017. And he was named the game’s MVP. He was also known for executing the famous play called the “Philly Special,” as current Bears tight end Tre Burton made the touchdown throw to Foles in the back of the end zone.
