The Chicago Bulls are on a two-game winning streak after earning a 119-112 overtime victory over the Charlotte Hornets, on Monday, January 8, on the road.
Bulls guard Coby White scored a team-high 27 points on 10 of 19 shooting from the field versus the Hornets on Monday. White returned to his hometown for the first time this season.
“It’s always fun to come back home and see everybody who supported me throughout my career,” said Coby White, a North Carolina native after Monday night’s win over the Hornets via Sam Smith of Chicago Bulls.com.
In White’s return home, he and the Bulls would outscore the Hornets 27-18 in the second quarter and 12-5 in OT to complete the victory.
In addition to White’s strong offensive performance at home, Bulls center Andre Drummond would dominate again on the boards. Drummond finished second in team scoring with 21 points and posted a game high 15 rebounds in the contest.
Hornets guard Terry Rozier scored a game-high 39 points
After holding him to only 15 points on Saturday, Rozier went 10 of 18 from the field and was a perfect 12 of 12 from the freethrow line on Monday night. Although Rozier had a big night offensively, the Bulls would overcome the Hornets for a third straight win this season.
Final Score: Bulls 119, Hornets 112
With the win, the Bulls improved to 17-21 in the Eastern Conference. They will play their next game on Wednesday, January 10, versus the Houston Rockets at the United Center. Game time 7 p.m.
