The Chicago Bulls lost their 28th game of the season with a 104-89 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, February 7, on the road.
The Bulls were led by center Nikola Vucevic, who finished with a team-high 28 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.
“I thought we did some good things in the fourth quarter,” said Bulls coach Billy Donovan via ESPN. “I didn’t think we shot the ball particularly well from the 3 or from the field. I think we lost a little bit of rhythm.”
The Bulls offense scored only 39 points at halftime. In spite of a low scoring first half by Chicago, the team outscored the Grizzlies 25-23 in the second quarter and 36-23 in the third quarter. The Bulls were missing their leading scorer in DeMar DeRozan due to hip soreness.
“I think execution-wise, we came down and weren’t really organized,” Zach LaVine said via ESPN. “We had a lot of opportunities to make shots. We just didn’t knock them down. It was a low-scoring game on both ends. We just didn’t get enough stops.”
Final score: Bulls 89, Grizzlies 104
With the loss, the Bulls dropped to 26-28 on the season. Up next, the Bulls will play the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, February 9, on the road. Game time 6:30 p.m.
