The Chicago Bulls have lost two straight games on the West Coast road trip with a 115-113 loss to the Phoenix Suns and a 141-132 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night, January 25, 2024.

The Bulls outscored the Lakers 32-31 in the first quarter and 39-29 in the fourth quarter in spite of the loss. Forward DeMar DeRozan scored a game high 32 points on Thursday night versus Los Angeles. While Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell made a game high eight three pointers against the Bulls.

“We certainly dug ourselves a hole,”said coach Billy Donovan via the Associated Press. “The difference in the game was the foul line for them. We fouled them too much. They shot astronomically well. The turnovers, and the close of the second quarter, really hurt.”

In spite of the Bulls having six players in double figures, it was not enough to cool down the hot shooting of Russell.

Final Score: Bulls 132, Lakers 141

With the loss, the Bulls are now 21-25 on the season. They will play their next game on Sunday, January 28, versus the Portland Trail Blazers. Game time 8 p.m.

Bulls Notes:

According to Bulls PR, Bulls guard Coby White eclipsed 1,000 career defensive rebounds in Monday night’s game at Phoenix, becoming the 6th guard in franchise history to reach the milestone. White joins M. Jordan, K. Hinrich, Z. LaVine, N. Van Lier and D. Rose as the only guards in Bulls history with 1,000 plus defensive rebound.

Guard Ayo Dosunmu scored 10 points in the first half in Los Angeles, setting his career-long streak of 6-straight games (1/13-1/25) scoring in double-digits. His previous longest streak with 10 plus points was 5-straight games (2x – most recent 1/31/23 to 2/7/23).
