Bulls earn victories over Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans

After defeating the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, November 30, the Chicago Bulls earned a 124-118 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, December 2, at the United Center.

Chicago was led by guard Coby White, who scored a game-high 31 points and made eight three-pointers in the victory over the Pelicans.

“You got to be ready to play anything,” said DeMar DeRozan to the Crusader about the team’s defensive effort. “Just to throw different looks at teams. They do it to us, and we got to be willing to do it to them to throw off their rhythm.”

According to the Bulls, the Pelicans went on a 22-8 run between 8:26 in the second quarter and the 1:39 mark of the second, giving them a 49-57 lead. The Bulls trailed at halftime 53-61.

Down 53-63, with 11:35 to play in the third quarter, Chicago mounted a 12-2 run (11:16, third quarter to 9:14, third quarter) to tie the game 65-65.

The Bulls led after three frames, 89-82, outscoring the Pelicans 36 to 21 in the third quarter. New Orleans outscored the Bulls in the fourth quarter, 36 to 35, with each team shooting better than .500 FG percent. However, the Bulls used a 12-2 run (4:44, fourth quarter to 3:27, fourth quarter) to give them their largest lead (12) of the game at 116-104.

This advantage was enough to help Chicago outlast the Pelicans, though New Orleans was able to draw as close as four points within Chicago’s lead (120-116) with 46.3 seconds remaining in regulation, added Bulls PR.

With the victory, the Bulls have won their second game in a row and will play the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, December 6, at home. Game time is 6 p.m.

Crusader Player of the Game:  White, of the Bulls, scored a game-high 31 points in the victory on Saturday.
