Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin rushed to Cincinnati hospital after a severe injury on Monday Night Football

In a globally televised game on NFL Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was severely injured after a tackle he made against a Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver.

According to Global News, Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins after a completion in what appeared to be a routine, if violent, tackle. He got to his feet, appeared to adjust his face mask with his right hand, and then fell backward about three seconds later and lay motionless.

“Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed,” said Commissioner Roger Goodell via an NFL press release.”Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

“Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available.”

Goodell also stated, “The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”

As of Crusader press time, Hamlin is in critical condition at the Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. For more information on this story, please visit our website at chicagocrusader.com
