To highlight Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.’s national mission and to recognize individuals that make an impact in the community in which they serve, the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD), Chicago Chapter is hosting its annual Orchid Awards. The event will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Double Tree Hotel, 5000 West 127th Street in Alsip, Illinois starting at 11:30am.
The theme is “TLOD Chicago Chapter Loves the Blues.” The awards gala will honor men and women in law enforcement. TLOD Chicago Chapter has recognized outstanding individuals for their contributions to the community since 1988. The list of this year’s honorees includes: Chief Barbara J. West, Sergeant Daniel Allen of the 11th District, Officer Eddie Chapman, Sergeant Maureen Vincent, Officer Darryl London, Sr., Attorney Theodore (Ted) London, Dorothy R. Leavell and Attorney Ernest B. Fenton. The chapter will also recognize a member of the chapter that provides outstanding support and service. Lady Robbin Richardson will be honored as the 2018 Top Lady of the Year.
The Chicago Chapter was organized in 1974 with seven charter members. TLOD is a national public service organization that supports youth and adults in the areas of education, senior citizens, status of women, community beautification and community partnerships.
