Ribbon-cutting and event will celebrate women in basketball and the South Side community
The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago and NIKE, Inc. have teamed up to refurbish a community basketball court on the South Side Y’s campus at 63rd and Stony Island. As part of the unveiling, we’re cutting the ribbon on Saturday, July 9 and throwing a community party featuring local female DJs, local female-owned eateries, and more.
Photo opportunities include local professional athletes, public officials, youth basketball clinics, ribbon-cutting for a brand new community basketball court designed by local artist Crystal Zapata, female DJs, female-owned food vendors, giveaways, and community fanfare.
