Sky win 85-77 over Connecticut Sun to even WNBA semifinals at 1

For the third consecutive postseason, the Chicago Sky faced off against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, August 28, at Wintrust Arena.

The Sky lost 68-63 on their home floor.

In the first quarter, the Sun went on a 17-7 run building a 19-16 lead. In the second quarter, the Sky outscored the Sun 18-15 to tie the game at 34-34 at halftime. The Sun edged the Sky 20-12 in the third quarter and went on a 16-6 run from the 4:55 mark in the quarter to the 8:31 mark of the fourth quarter. The Sun led 54-46.

In the fourth quarter, the Sky went on a 14-6 run from the 9:24 mark to the 3:26 mark. The Sky scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, in spite of a Game 1 loss to the Sun.

Final Score: Sky 63, Sun 68.

NEXT UP: The Sky and Sun return to Wintrust Arena for Game 2 of the WNBA Semi-Finals on Wednesday, August 31. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. CT, and the game will be aired on ESPN 2, and NBA TV Canada.

Wednesday’s matchup will be the sixth meeting of the season between the Sun and Sky. The Sky are now 4-1 against the Sun this season. The Sun took a 1-0 lead in the semi-final series, defeating the Sky 68-63. Following Game 2, the teams will travel to Connecticut for Game 3 and potentially Game 4 of the series.
