Revolution Workshop Roseland open house

Revolution Workshop (RW) is excited to host an open house at their new training facility at 120 E. 111th Street in Chicago’s Far South Side neighborhood of Roseland on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The public is invited to enjoy light refreshments and hear from Executive Director Manny Rodriguez and board leaders about the organization’s vision for the future. Meet trainees and staff, as well as tour the new facility.

RW is a nonprofit workforce development organization and social enterprise with a two-fold mission: to reduce inequity in Chicago by providing training leading to financial prosperity for residents in underserved communities and to decrease the acute talent shortage in the construction sector by providing diverse trained workers to skilled-trades employers.

Programming at RW encompasses a wide range of strength-building opportunities that empower trainees to break down barriers to success and navigate pervasive inequality. Their basic 12-week Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training program is offered three times a year at both their South and West side facilities, reaching an annual total of 150 participants. We have partnered with ComEd to create Power Up Academy – the first 12-week pre-professional pathway program into entry-level construction management, architecture, and engineering without a college degree. RW has recently developed programming around skilled historic trades to provide access, opportunity, and resources to under-resourced historic communities throughout Chicago.
