NHBW Over the Moon

The Northwest Indiana Chapter of National Hook-Up of Black Women (NHBW) will celebrate National Women’s History Month on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Chateau Banquets, 530 W. 61st Avenue, Merrillville, IN from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The 2016 theme for National Women’s History Month is “Working to form a more perfect union, honoring women in leadership.”

This year marks the 6th Annual Over-the-Moon-Ovation event where the group will honor women from various walks of life in several core areas: health, education, community activism, arts and culture, business and government. The guest speaker is the dynamic motivational speaker Todd McCain and Mistress of Ceremony is WLTH Radio personality Eve Gomez. The 2016 honorees are: Audrey Byrd, Marilyn Caruthers, Naomi Millender, Senator Earline Rogers, Toni Washington Simpson, Sharon Tyler and Dharathula (Dolly) Millender (posthumously).

NHBW invites other organizations to join in the celebration, which includes a program, entertainment and lunch. A “Vendor Market Place” will also be available with interesting items for participants to purchase. To represent an organization the ticket cost is $35 at this event.
