The Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1747 Fillmore St., Gary, Indiana, Rev. Isaac Culver, Jr., Pastor, Drama Ministry is hosting Comic Relief 2019. The Drama Ministry has been faithful to the commitment of entertaining the faith community with wholesome plays and comedy shows that have uplifted many audiences.
The Ministry’s last play, in November, ‘Heaven’s Waiting Room’ by Daniel Sprouse, played to packed houses in the church’s sanctuary. Eight people made it to ‘Heaven’s Waiting Room’ only to be met by a feisty office manager ‘Gloria,’ played by Carol Williams; then the fun began.
Other productions were: ‘Deacon Willie’s Last Will and Testament,’ ‘Choir Rehearsal,’ ‘Mourners to Glory,’ Comic Relief 2016, and many more. Now it’s time for Comic Relief 2019 to boost the spirits of the faith community with ‘We Laughin’, Y’all.’
All proceeds will aid the Foreign Missionary efforts in Kenya and Rwanda, and Home Missions, for children to go to the National Congress of Christian Education.
ONE SHOW ONLY, SATURDAY FEBRUARY 16, 2019 featuring the best of Christian comics in the Chicago metropolitan area.
