Kennedy-King College invites community to free Black History Month festivities

Kennedy-King College is set to host a series of public events in honor of Black History Month, inviting the community to participate in these enriching and free activities. These events offer a unique opportunity to engage with Black history and culture through a variety of formats and discussions.

On February 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the U Building Theatre will screen “Phunny Business.”

Interested attendees can secure their spot by RSVPing through the provided Eventbrite link.

Following this, on February 26, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Great Hall in the U Building will become a hub for culinary and cultural exchange with “Kennedy King: Chicago’s Soul: The Heart of Chicago’s Soul Food Dining.”

Participants are encouraged to register in advance via Eventbrite.

The month’s activities will culminate on February 28, 2024, with the Black History Knowledge Bowl from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the KKC Theatre in the U Building. This friendly competition between Kennedy-King College (KKC) and Olive-Harvey College (OHC) will test participants’ knowledge of Black history, providing an educational and engaging experience for all involved.
