The National Sorority of Delta Kappa, Inc. youth guidance group, Xinos (high school young ladies) and Kudos (high school young men) recently presented an elegant scholarship ball at the Avalon. The theme was “Teen Love Affair.”
Twenty-four Xinos and their Kudos escorts performed various dance routines created by choreographer, Scharise Belle and Jerrika Davis. Wesley Sanders was the DJ for the affair.
Each Xino sold ads for the souvenir journal to raise funds for scholarships. The person who sold the most ads would be crowned Ms. Xinos, King Kudos, Xinos 1st runner-up, Xinos 2nd runner-up and honorable mention.
The highlight of the evening was the crowing of Ms. Xinos 2017, Madison Wilson, by Razariah Combs, Ms. Xinos 2016; King Kameron Flowers, was crowned by Lafonda Morris (Kudos Advisor); Xinos, Alexis Wood was Xinos 1st runner-up and Zharia Dodson was Xinos 2nd runner-up. Imani Butts, Mikayla Lemons, Deveriuex Coleman and Payton Watts received honorable mention.
Ms. Xinos and Mr. Kudos received 10 percent of their proceeds, banner and trophy. The 1st and 2nd runner-ups received a banner, trophy and 10 percent. The honorable mention young ladies received trophies.
