Illinois lottery player scores $250,000 on a scratch-off ticket in Springfield

An Illinois Lottery player had a stroke of luck when they spent $10 on a scratch-off ticket and won the top prize of $250,000.

The $250,000 Crossword winning scratch-off ticket was purchased at Thornton’s gas station at 3001 Wabash Ave. in Springfield.

This is also a nice win for the Thornton’s in Springfield, as they’ll receive a one percent selling bonus, or $2,500.

Already this year, over 3.8 million winning Illinois Lottery Instant Tickets have been sold, netting players over $92 million in prizes.

The Illinois Lottery currently offers a range of Instant Ticket games priced from $1 to $50, available at approximately 7,000 retail locations across Illinois.
