The Gary Public Library and Cultural Center’s mural depicting images and scenes from Gary, Indiana history is on display Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The mural is located on the second floor public study area.

Joe Mays the “Peanut Man” made a special trip in March to view the mural while it was in progress. Professor Joseph Stiglitz, who won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2001, and his wife recently visited the Gary Public Library to view the mural.
