Gary couple empowers relationship seekers with panel discussion

As a husband and wife team of seven years and parents of three little ones, Dezimon and Adriane Alicea are excited to share their experiences in marriage and raising children— the good, bad and ugly—through an upcoming panel discussion.

“We wanted to provide a judgment free platform for people to be able to talk and ask questions about relationships, which is something we didn’t have in the beginning stages of our relationship,” said Adriane Alicea.

Scheduled for Saturday, April 14th from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Lake Etta Banquet Hall (4801 W. 29th Avenue, Gary, IN.), Real Love: A Panel Discussion on Love & Relationships is an event for those who are single and interested in being in a relationship, those in a committed relationship, or married. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and get comfortable as the conversation is sure to push the relationship envelope.

To provide an even deeper dive into the conversation on love and relationships, the Aliceas have recruited some of their closest married friends to share stories of marital triumphs and hardships.

“Our ultimate goals are to provide some insight into ‘real love’ and to offer helpful advice on what it takes to make relationships work,” said Dezimon Alicea. “I really want to hear from the couples who have been at this much longer than us and what their secrets are to longevity.”

There will also be food, live entertainment along with vendors sharing their products and services.

Vendors include Katrina Hill of Lincoln Heritage Insurance, Asheley Patterson of Serenity Thyme, Monica Dumas of Soothing Scents, Alrita McClinon of Ta’Jae’s Accessory Closet, Emerson May of Total Life Changes, Tomeka Pope of Paparazzi Jewelry, Tasha Millsap of There’s a Blessing, Dr. Janet Seabrook of Community HealthNet Centers and Tasha Coaxum of Innovative Catering and Sweets.

“It’s a great opportunity to network, support small businesses and most important, see what real love looks like,” said Dezimon Alicea.

Tickets are still available and are $15 per person or $20 per couple. If interested in attending, call 219-588-2710, email [email protected] or purchase tickets on Eventbrite.
