Gary Announces Free Back 2 School Health Fair And Give-A-Way

…Join The C.H.A.S.E. Immunzations, Physicals, School Supplies And Youth Baseball  

The City of Gary will again this year partner with Community HealthNet Health Centers, Covering Kids & Families of Indiana other health agencies and businesses in presenting the Back 2 School Health Fair and Give-a-way; “Join the C.H.A.S.E” (Combining Health And School=Education) on Saturday, July 27, 2019. The Fair will be held at the U.S. Steel Yard, RailCats Baseball Stadium, One Stadium Plaza from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

The schedule is as follows: Giveaways from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.; Immunizations and Physicals from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and added this year is youth baseball league games beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the field.

The Back 2 School event is open to Gary students, grades K-12. Students will have an opportunity to receive health related services such as immunizations, physicals (limited) and dental screenings. Parents should bring shot records, school physical forms. Health & Nutrition information and on-site enrollment for health coverage will also be available.  Those interested in insurance enrollment should bring photo ID, birth certificates and social security cards for all family members and proof of income (30 days). Additional event highlights include vendors, youth activities, haircuts and manicures, backpacks and school supplies.

Sponsors and supporters include American Water, Anthem BlueCross Blue Shield, CareSource, the Gary Sanitary District, the Gary Health Department, Humana, Lil Lou’s Beauty & Barber College, MDwise, Managed Health Services (MHS) and the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
