Showcasing Up-and Coming, Talented Young Chicago Fashion Designers

There is an exciting, new young urban fashion streetwear show explosion, called Winter Fashion Land curated by Fusion of Light Entertainment, occurring this weekend on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at By the Hand Club, 415 North Laramie Avenue from 5:00pm – 9:00pm, showcasing the incredible design talents of Dylan Hawkins aka DEAL$ – a 16-year-old, youthful Black up and coming fashion trend-setting designer and owner of DI$TRESSED Clothing and other young fashion entrepreneurs from neighborhoods across Chicago. Hosted by local entertainer L. Williams – it’s an event not to miss! Ticket information is provided below.
There’s more – an interesting array of other local Black-owned brands whose fashions will hit the Winter Fashion Land runway includes Urban Knights; GLOBABIES; Arrogant Fashions; Loners Club and Growing God’s Gifts.
Jordan Blair & Tandrea Hawkins are two young, savvy, enterprising Columbia College graduates, who have been curating events under their Chicago-based, woman-owned company, Fusion of Light Entertainment since April 2020, formed during the start of the pandemic. Since they created the organization, their goal has centered on helping local creatives network, gain recognition and knowledge, and build their audiences in a COVID-19 and Post-COVID-19 safe world.
They recognize that program initiatives like these helps strengthen positive youth development and success, while simultaneously supporting parents, extended family members, as well uplifting the general communities across the city of Chicago. Shows like Winter Fashion Land make an meaningful economic impact in Chicago by giving fashion designers technical product development experience and local exposure to potential customers.
“What we are doing via Fusion of Light Entertainment is highlighting these innate creatives, fashion-forward young Chicagoans who are making positive strides with their urban streetwear clothing brands,” said Tandrea Hawkins, Fusion co-founder. Adds partner Jordan Blair, “This event will also help bring a new narrative about the constructive activities of west and south side Chicago youth, to encourage and support them living and realizing their biggest dreams of a bright future.”
Chicago is a well-known home to a vast array of amazing fashion finds. Tucked away in neighborhoods, these local artists / designers offer handmade items, specialty items, unique artisan wearables, and under-the-radar brands.
