Field Museum hosts Speak Up For Science on IL resident Free Day

What: Join the Field Museum for Speak Up For Science on Saturday, May 4 from 11am-2pm. Meet our scientists, learn about the ways we study and protect the natural world, and help us work toward a brighter future rich in nature and culture. Write postcards to elected officials advocating for climate action, digitize specimens used in active conservation research, learn about the wildlife in your backyard, or share on social media why you think this planet’s worth protecting. We’ll also have a voter registration booth and many other ways to engage with science advocacy onsite. Speak Up For Science is all about highlighting the ways the public can get involved.

Why: The Field Museum champions the future of the natural world. For 125 years, we’ve worked relentlessly to understand, and fight for, Earth’s diversity of life and culture. Today is no different. We’re sharing the knowledge we’ve gathered—from all seven continents—to move science forward and enable a better future for our planet.

Who: Open to the public with free general admission for Illinois residents

When: Saturday, May 4, 11am-2pm

Where: Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Drive 60605
