Father’s Day comedy show at the ETA Theater June 4

Father’s Day comedy show

Gary native, actor and comedian Buddy Lewis is headed back home to host a special Father’s Day Comedy Show. On June 4, Lewis is returning to the comedy stage at the ETA Theater, 7558 S. South Chicago Ave. in Chicago. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

“This is the fourth in a series of comedy shows that I am hosting at the ETA Theater,” said Lewis.

“It is our goal to build the theater’s following back up since COVID caused its closure for more than a year. Seeing a packed house every time makes my heart smile.”

The show will feature Chicago comedy favorites J Deep, B Cole and Schmitty B. The comics will honor fathers in attendance with a special Father’s Day raffle.

Lewis has also made plans to spend time in his hometown. On Friday, June 3 at 12:00 p.m., he will present “Books with Buddy” at the YWCA of NWI, 150 W. 15th Avenue in Gary. Lewis will read to area youth, free books will be provided by the Gary Literacy Coalition and the Gary Public Library will have its Tech Mobile onsite for youth to explore.

“Now that I am coming home more frequently, I want to be sure to get out in the community,” said Lewis. “Gary will always be home, and I will forever let everyone know that this is where I was born and raised.”

The community is invited to bring elementary school-aged children to “Books with Buddy.”

Tickets to the comedy show are $30. VIP packages are also available, and parking is free. Early arrival is encouraged.

“I promise it will be a fun outing that you can plan to attend every month through August,” said Lewis. “Tickets to the show would make a great early Father’s Day gift for the dads out there.”
