ESSENCE Debuts ‘Black Girl Magic’ Docuseries Highlighting Black Filmmakers and Teen Girls

In celebration of the power and achievements Black girls everywhere, ESSENCE.com has launched ‘Black Girl Magic.’ Presented by Walmart, this original six-part docuseries captures the poignant stories and diverse lifestyles of six young women from across the country who epitomize Black excellence.

Under the tagline of “6 Girls. 6 Stories. 6 Dreams,” ‘Black Girl Magic‘ will roll out over the course of 2016 with each new episode profiling a notable young woman of color and being helmed by a different up-and-coming Black female director. Between every episode there will be supplemental bonus footage and director profiles, as well as regular highlights of #BlackGirlMagic.
