Edgewater Health launches new free wellness program

Edgewater Health is launching a new wellness program. Mind, Body & Spirit will meet from 12-1 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. The kick-off presentation will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023.

The presentations are free to the public and held at Edgewater Health’s main building, 1100 W. 6th Ave. Registration is not required to attend the monthly programs.

“The phrase ‘mind, body and spirit’ is the connection and relationship of all three elements that make up our entire being. To be healthy and maintain overall balance in our lives, we must learn how to address all three aspects of the body, not just the physical,” said LaTanya Woodson, Director of Community Health Education.

Each month, wellness discussions will be presented by Edgewater Health’s clinical staff, administration and community partners, said Woodson.

The Mind, Body & Spirit program will focus on a different wellness topic each month. Dr. Danita Johnson, President & CEO of Edgewater Health, will kick off the program, speaking about “Discovering What You Already Have.” The presentations will also be broadcast live on the Edgewater Health Facebook page.

Dr. Johnson is a healthcare industry expert and executive, lecturer and author of The Unapologetic Woman and The Women’s Little Purple Book for Leadership. She is recognized as an authority on leadership, organization turn-around, and is credited with helping leaders/teams strengthen behaviors that positively impact their relationships, resilience and results.
