Kick off the season with spring 2022 College Recruitment season with Chicago’s own celebrity comedian/actor and author – Kel Mitchell, aka “Mr. Goodburger” as he partners with the National Colleges Resources Association in welcoming The Black College Expo™ – – live and in-person, back to Chicago State University,  at the Jones Convocation Center, 9501 S. KING DRIVEon Saturday April 16th from 10am to 3pm. There’s also an after show from 3pm to 5pm. *COVID protocol restrictions will be followed

Seniors, Juniors, and College Transfer Students can meet one on one with  over 50 top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and various other colleges and universities, attend informative seminars and workshops from 10am – 3pm, and – – receive Admissions answers, Educational and Financial Resource options right on the spot ! EVERYONE is Welcome – students, college grads, educators, parents and caregivers… It’s FREE  & Open to Students of ALL Ages!!!   Also…

The exciting day includes motivational sessions such as: “Boomin’ Future Careers”; “How to Find Money for College”; “Why Consider Attending an HBCU”; and “How to Get A’s in English Using Hip-Hop”, taught by musical Hip-Hop legend Yo-Yo!

Students can get accepted on the SPOT, have their college application fees waived  and receive $$$ millions is scholarships!  NOTE: Students you must bring copies of your transcripts, ACT SAT test scores are NOT necessary, however if you have them bring them (especially 12th graders and some colleges may accept 11th graders)!! Win CASH and prizes!!! The STEAM Technology Pavilion powered by American Honda Foundation. Event Sponsors: Comerica Bank, Honda, Toyota and US Army.

College Transfer Students this is a great opportunity. Bring your transcripts from all colleges that you have attended. Just show your ID.

The Black College Expo™ After Show from 3pm to 5pm, features a Step Show, “Dance Off” for Cash hosted by our celebrity ambassadors Crystal Westbrooks, TV’s Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood, legendary artist/actress YoYo and Actor and Comedian Mr. Goodburger himself Kel Mitchell and friends.

The Black College Expo™ continue to serve underserved and underrepresented students, including homeless and foster students, with free services and resources to help them connect to college, careers and beyond!
