ComEd launches system upgrade: Self-service tools offline until Feb. 19

This week, ComEd is making important updates to its existing customer information and billing system. Starting today, most of ComEd’s self-service tools will temporarily be limited or offline until at least Monday, Feb. 19. During this time, ComEd will assign new unique account numbers to all residential and business customers which will follow customers across the ComEd service territory, whether you start a new service, move to a new address, or close an account and open another account later.

What customers need to know:

  • If you set up your ComEd bill to be paid through your bank or other financial institution’s bill-pay service, you will need to update your ComEd payee record with your new account number after the conversion.
  • If you are enrolled in ComEd’s Automatic Payment (AutoPay) program, no action is necessary. These account numbers will be updated automatically and monthly bills will continue to be withdrawn from their designated checking or savings account.

Customers can locate their new account number in the upper right corner of their ComEd bills issued Feb. 20 or later or online at ComEd.com/MyAccount in the upper left corner of “My Dashboard.”
