City Of Gary Recycling Department Celebrates National Recycling Week Recycling Event November 15

The city of Gary’s Recycling Department will acknowledge National Recycling Week in a celebration on Friday, November 15, 2019 which is National Recycling Day.

Gary residents are invited to stop by City Hall on the 15th from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and join Recycling in this national observance. Residents will be able to pick up recycling bins and participate in some Recycling Trivia to win prizes. Educational materials will also be available.

National Recycling Week was established to create awareness about how recycling can help to solve major environmental issues and to encourage residents to recycle more. The observance is in its 15th year.

The Gary Recycling Department provides a number of free recycling services for Gary residents including e-waste recycling, brown bag collection, household hazardous waste collection, recycling bins and educational services. Recycling pick up service is available Monday-Friday at 7:00 a.m.  Bins must be placed curbside.
