Children’s book author Andre Renee Harris features literary works at Indy book signing

Breakout literary sensation Andre Renee Harris will be the featured author at an upcoming book signing Saturday, September 30 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Washington Family Center, 3130 E. 30th St. in Indianapolis.

Harris, a Gary, IN native, has spent nearly two decades as a successful business owner in Northwest Indiana, and unveiled his passion for writing by authoring two children’s books — “Teach Me How to Play” and “I’m Special Too.” These works feature diverse characters from various backgrounds and cultures.

“As a writer of children’s books, I believe it is paramount that we teach children to get along with one another, and they are never too young to be exposed to a variety of cultures,” says Harris.

ARW book2In “Teach Me How to Play,” children successfully learn to enjoy one another’s company despite the barrier of language and differences in cultural traditions. “I’m Special Too” tells the story of excited parents who must share news of a life-changing episode with their only child. Colorfully illustrated, Harris says his books were strategically designed for parents, guardians, educators, etc. to read to children encouraging bond building.

“Nurturing children through literature brings wonder and amazement to their lives,” adds Harris. “As they grow, it becomes more apparent how vital it is to forge strong alliances with people of all nationalities and beliefs.”

Harris’ appearance at the Washington Center will include the reading of excerpts from each book and discussion followed by the book signing. Both books will be available for purchase. The family-friendly event is the first of many scheduled throughout the Midwest.

Harris has several other books set to debut in the fall of 2017 and early 2018. To learn more about Harris’ literary journey and to schedule an appearance with book signing, please visit www.AndreReneeWrites.com or call 219-712-3182.
