One Church One School, the award-winning nation-wide school support initiative, celebrates founder, Bishop Henry M. Williamson, Sr.
Carter Temple CME Church the historic south side church, where Bishop Williamson served as pastor for 16 years partnered in hosting this Celebration.
The event significantly takes place at the opening of the school year, highlighting Bishop Williamson’s 30-year leadership of One Chuch One School, transforming the nation’s faith community’s relationship with public schools.
In 2002 Bishop Williamson was elected from the pastorate of Carter Temple to the Episcopal level of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) serving 3 districts as its 52nd Bishop for the past twenty years, along with his wife, Dr. Doris Y Williamson.
Faith Education, Political and Community leaders from throughout Chicago and the nation attended this festive gala, August 25, 2022, at Chicago/Oak Lawn Hilton, 9333 South Cicero, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
