The Katie Hall Educational Foundation, Inc., publisher of the “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law Greeting Card,” recently announced the launch of its latest consumer product in celebration of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law Observance on Monday, January 21, 2019, and beyond.
It will be distributed and merchandised, along with the “U.S. Representative Katie Hall at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law Signing Ceremony” postcard and other foundation products on a nationwide and international basis. The Foundation’s greeting card is in direct competition with greeting cards currently manufactured by American Greeting Cards, Hallmark Cards, Inc., and other lesser-known brands exclusively themed for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law Observance.
The business model includes the availability for retail purchase of this long anticipated and unique greeting card via various well-established distribution channels and other marketing techniques. One of the unique features of the Foundation’s greeting card is the memorial tribute on the back of the card recognizing the individual, who worked tirelessly to introduce, sponsor, and secure passage of House of Representatives Bill, H.R. 3706, commonly known as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday Law, which is celebrated on the third Monday in January. In August 1982, U.S. Representative Katie Hall (D-IN) intentionally included this language in her version of “The King Bill.”
Based on the Foundation’s market research, the other leading brands of greeting cards do not commercially recognize the work of Mrs. Hall in any form or fashion nor do they place their products on store shelves for mass numbers of consumers to purchase the card for this legal holiday. The Katie Hall Educational Foundation’s goal is to offer consumers a colorful, commercial, historic and purposeful greeting card for all Americans to enjoy. The greeting card is designed for people of all races, national origins, or nationalities for the first legal holiday of the retail season, which traditionally begins with Valentine’s Day according to major American manufacturers and retailers.
The major goal of the Foundation in publishing this greeting card is to make the “Dr. MLK, Jr. National Holiday Law Greeting Card” as relatable as cupid is to Valentine’s Day, the shamrock is to St. Patrick’s Day, the candy/bunny/eggs are to Easter; the pumpkin is to Halloween, the turkey is to Thanksgiving; Santa Claus is to Christmas; and champagne is to New Year’s Day.
