Wakanda forever, for real!

According to Deadline, the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) acquired the suit worn by the film’s star, Chadwick Boseman, a shooting script signed by director and screenwriter Ryan Coogle, two pages of spec script, and 24 high-resolution production photographs.

Black Panther is the first all-Black film in the Marvel franchise and has become the top-grossing superhero film of all time in North America to the tune of over $1 billion in sales. As well, T’Challa is the first superhero of African descent to appear in mainstream American comics.

The NMAAHC will use the exhibit to showcase the progression of Blacks in film and help tell a “fuller story of Black culture and identity.”
