Black Lives Matter NWI – Gary will host a community conversation on recent developments impacting the future of public education in Gary, Indiana. The discussion will be held this Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at Christ United Methodist Church at 201 W. Ridge Road in Gary. Light refreshments will be served.
The discussion will feature a report from community members who have participated in recent education meetings, including the State Board of Education meeting in Indianapolis. There will also be a collaborative review of next steps and ways that community members, families, parents, and students can organize, get involved, and take proactive action to ensure that Gary youth have access to quality public education.
