Another round of National Museum of African American History and Culture tickets available Monday

Free tickets to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture are in high demand, and a new round guaranteeing entrance to D.C.’s newest Smithsonian museum will be released Monday.

The museum will offer free timed passes Monday at 9 a.m. Visitors need to have a timed pass to enter the museum, which opened to the public Sept. 24.

The free timed passes distributed last month — and even scalped online — are all gone for the rest of 2016. The passes to be distributed Monday are good for entry in January, February and March 2017.

The passes will be available through the museum’s website or by calling ETIX Customer Support Center at 866-297-4020 beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. There is a limit of six free passes per order.

Those planning to grab tickets may want to be ready Monday morning — in August, the tickets were all claimed in minutes.

For those who can’t snag the hottest ticket in town Monday, visitors can try to get a same-day ticket at the museum. There are a limited number of same-day timed passes, which are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis at the museum beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Timed passes are required for entry to the museum and will continue to be required indefinitely.
