Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) has opened a brand new site for its ACCESS Brandon Family Health Center to better serve community residents with expanded services and exam rooms. The new health center is located at 2822 E. 83rd St.
ACCESS Brandon Family Health Center now has expanded women’s health and behavioral health services, as well as benefits counseling and care coordination. Other services offered include family medicine; obstetrics and gynecology; pediatrics; low-cost family planning; midwifery; medication-assisted treatment; and chronic disease management.
To address the dental needs of community members, ACCESS’ partner Sonrisa Family Dental is also on site to support patients’ oral health.
Lisa Leonard, a 56-year-old patient at ACCESS Brandon for the past 14 years, appreciates that the health center has expanded and that she now has dental services all in one space. In 2012, Leonard had two knee replacements within three months of each other and has always considered the care that she receives at ACCESS Brandon the best possible. “I live about three blocks away from ACCESS Brandon. My entire family goes there—all three of my children and my two grandchildren,” Leonard said. She explained why she chose ACCESS Brandon when she was new to the community. “I had just moved into the area, and the Southeast Side was very unfamiliar to me. While living in Bronzeville, I was part of the ‘working poor,’ in that I didn’t make much money, but I made too much to qualify for health insurance.”
Leonard explained that the new health center could be considered a beacon in the community. “The new building is really nice, it’s bright, more modern. The greenery that is there is really nice. It really helps to see that in our neighborhood.”
The ACCESS Brandon Family Health Center is located at 2822 E. 83rd St., and the health center hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. For more information, call 773-721-7600.

Save the Date: The ACCESS Brandon Family Health Center Summer Community Health Fair will be held on Saturday, August 4th, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At 11:00 a.m., ACCESS will also hold an official grand opening and ribbon-cutting event. The community is invited to join in both of these festivities.
