YWCA of NWI hosts pamper me pretty spa party for young ladies

Pamper Me Pretty

Recently, the YWCA of NWI hosted its annual “Pamper Me Pretty” Spa Party at its Gary facility for nearly 20 young ladies.

“We wanted to do something fun and engaging for our young ladies, while highlighting dynamic women in our community,” said YWCA of NWI Executive Director Caren Jones. “Our guest speakers presented the perfect opportunity to give encouraging words to our young girls.”

The spa party included pedicures, manicures and facials, and lunch afterward. They also heard from guest speakers who spoke on topics focused on Self-Esteem, Girl Empowerment, Strong Female role models and achieving your dreams. The presenters included LaTanya Woodson, Director of Community Health at Edgewater Health and Cheryl Smith, CEO & Founder of Feed My Sheep Resource Center Inc.

Some portions of the event were broadcast live on the YWCA’s Facebook page.

The young ladies who participated in the event are a part of the YWCA of NWI’s youth summer camp. The organization is now enrolling for its after school enrichment programs. For more information, call the YWCA of NWI at 219-881-9922 or visit www.ywcanwi.org.
