These are interesting times, where up seems like down and down feels like up during these days of mixed priorities. In a regime that seeks to control all of the dynamics in the United States (and elsewhere), a lot of lies are being circulated! It is so serious that people don’t know what is true and what is not!
This, therefore, is the best kind of environment for those who are in the business of human control. In order to soften people up—or actually to “prime” them—you must first find out “what makes them tick.” Once that information is determined, gleaned by observing people, the sky is almost the limit for how a person responds to stimuli. Once that is determined, it is possible to design language infused to react to existing personal biases. When those biases are uncovered, it is possible to influence subsequent behavior.
One of the most recent examples of language coercion being utilized by the current Trump regime is the term “woke.” It is ironic that the word “woke,” which is a behavior that is demonstrated by the segment of the population that tends to embrace the more positive aspects of life, especially those who are residents of the United States of America, has now been weaponized against them. This concept aligns closely with the broader idea of Wokeness.
The following ideas are connected with the concept of “wokeness”: Awareness of Systemic Injustice; Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination; Social Justice and Equality; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); Identity and Representation, focusing on the rights of minority groups; Activism And Action; Intersectionalism; and Empathy and Compassion.
These are key ideas from a proponent’s perspective. When looking at concepts that are considered “woke,” it becomes apparent that opponents have embraced false “truths.” Unwoke people can be convinced that hot is actually cold and black is actually white if the correct language is used. The “reversification” of meaning is a cruel strategy of psychic manipulation used to convince challenged thinkers that being “woke” is negative.
The obvious fact is that being woke—a play on words connected with being “awake”—is a good thing and not something that should be ridiculed. Non-thinking individuals, however, don’t agree with this. For some reason, they believe that being “woke” is negative. In other words, the original positive meaning connected with the word “woke” has been hijacked by extreme right-wing propaganda, and surprisingly, a large number of people are hoodwinked by it. Imagine that; a whole group of people believe that doing things that uplift other people in society is considered to be negative behavior.
Woke people, on the other hand, are the ones who are fighting for quality healthcare. They are the ones who are sickened by the treatment of legal and undocumented citizens by masked ICE thugs. The woke people would never consider taking resources from the mouths of starving children. Woke people care about what happens to their fellow citizens. Woke people value “empathy”—a concept that the “others” despise. In fact, the woke individuals are the ones who embrace activities that encourage fairness and social justice in all of its forms. Woke individuals embrace DEI, and all actions that are hallmarks of positive social change.
Essentially, woke people are the salt of the Earth. They are the ones who care about others. They are the ones who would never think about spending obscene amounts of money to build a lavish, extremely expensive ballroom while SNAP benefits are threatened during a prolonged government shutdown—or gutting our systems in order to re-create them while giving control to oligarchs.
The “woke” phenomenon is a textbook example of how it is possible to manipulate people by latching onto and distorting falsehoods that ultimately benefit the manipulators. They are the ones who tend to have empathy deficits; they are the ones who value commerce over people! With that said, it is important that “woke” people refuse to “kiss the ring” of oligarchs, dictators, and others of that ilk—and continue on their altruistic journeys.
Aluta continua.
