The Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce will present its First Annual Good Corporate Citizen Award at their Annual Winter Reception on December 6, 2019 at the Grand Ballroom at 7 p.m.
Mr. James Harris, Jr., Vice President of Wintrust Mortgage will be presented with the “Good Corporate Citizen of 2019 Award.” Mr. Harris has demonstrated exemplary efforts and leadership in supporting the Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce with its goal to build an inclusive Woodlawn. He and Wintrust Mortgage have partnered with the Woodlawn Chamber as well as Alexander Movers and Strength-in-Management LLC, (a property management company) to pioneer a “bottoms up” property management training collaborative. This targeted collaborative is designed to help develop skills and competencies that can lead to living-wage employment for person who are interested in property management.
“This is exactly the type of value-added corporate partnership Woodlawn needs in order to economically strengthen the human capacity for all who choose to live and stay in an economically robust Woodlawn,” said Anthony Oliver, Owner of Alexander Movers, a 46-year-old small business in Woodlawn.
“The Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce welcomes the support of Wintrust Mortgage and the contribution of ideas from other businesses in order to build viable training programs that can lead to a livable wage and affordable housing. The Annual Reception is open to the public and will feature food, wine and music. The Grand Ballroom is located at 6351 South Cottage Grove.
