The Flint water crisis has been ongoing since April 2014, and it has been nearly four years since the people of Flint, MI have had relatively clean and safe running water in homes and schools. While the issue is not as headline driven as it was at the beginning of the problem, it looks like Will and Jaden Smith have not forgotten about the residents of Flint.
According to MLive.com, Will and Jaden’s eco-friendly water company JUST has donated 9,200 bottles of water to Flint. The company will also continue to give bottles of water monthly to Flint public schools until lead levels of the water drop to a safe threshold.
JUST Water was started by the father-son duo in 2015. The water company creates packaging from renewable resources and uses sugar cane “plastic” for the cap. Smith recently said on Instagram they are working on developing an edible lid to help with the further sustainability of the product.
