Walker’s legacy expands to seven new cities

Organizational expansion marks 17 national markets for 2016

Walker’s Legacy a national women in business collective named in honor of Madam C. J. Walker announced this week the organization’s growing national expansion markets for 2016.

Walker’s Legacy received responses from hundreds of women throughout the nation after conducting a national call for city chairs and leaders, who were interested in bringing the Walker’s Legacy eco-system support model to aid women of color in entrepreneurship and professionalism to their city.

“We are thrilled to see interest and excitement for Walker’s Legacy growing nationally,” stated Natalie Madeira Cofield, Founder & CEO. “It has always been our intention to support the next generation of successful entrepreneurial women and we believe bringing programming to these new markets further supports this vision.”

In 2016, the organization will expand to Baltimore, Detroit, Oakland, New Orleans, St. Louis, Miami and New York.

In November of this year the organization also successfully expanded to Orlando, Florida bringing the total number of national affiliate markets to seventeen.
