The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that State Road 55 in Lake County (Gary) is closed between 47th and 49th avenues for utility work. The project is expected to last approximately two weeks.
Southbound drivers on SR 55 will be detoured east on 45th Avenue, south on State Road 53 and west on 61st Avenue back to SR 55. Northbound drivers on SR 55 will be detoured east on 61st Avenue, north on SR 53 and west on 45th Avenue back to SR 55.
