Urban League holds 6th Annual Diversity and Inclusion Luncheon

The Urban League of Northwest Indiana held its 6th annual Diversity and Inclusion Luncheon Thursday, March 22, at the Avalon Manor Banquet Center. The annual event recognizes and celebrates the richness of diversity and inclusion throughout the Northwest Indiana region, and provides an opportunity for the Urban League to recognize those who are working to improve the concepts. The guest speaker for this year’s luncheon was Dr. Tony Lux, former superintendent of the Merrillville Community School District. Among the organizations recognized for their efforts in inclusion and diversity were, Trade Winds Services, (Moving the Needle Award). Miller Spotlight received the Community Award and Hammond Academy of Science & Technology (H.A.S.T) was the recipient of the Youth Award.
