The sixth ranked University of Chicago Maroons men soccer team improved to 5-1-4 on the season after earning a 5-0 victory over Emory University on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s game by the Maroons helped kicked off the University Athletic Association (UAA) league play.
The Eagles dropped to 5-4-1 after the loss.
The Maroons scored in their 43rd minute of the game after Bryce Millington managed to get a rebound header that went into the net for his team-high fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, the Maroons continued their momentum after scoring a second goal with less than a minute left , giving their team a 2-0 lead.
At the 52nd minute mark, the Maroons would score again. This time on a goal by Michael Johnson. Given his team a 3-0 lead.
In addition to Johnson’s goal, two additional goals were scored by Maroons sophomore’ Jorge Franco at the 72nd minute mark and Peyton Lane to close the game with 30 seconds left.
