True Star Media presents “From The Go Fest”

True Star Media has announced the 5th Annual “From the Go Fest,” an electrifying, youth-led cultural festival taking place in the heart of Chicago. This dynamic celebration showcases the bold voices, visionary talent, and authentic stories of Chicago’s next generation of media makers, musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs.

In partnership with Metropolitan Peace Initiatives (MPI) this year’s From the Go Fest is taking place Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1 PM to 7 PM at the DuSable Museum Campus, 740 East 56th Place in Chicago.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Chi city, this free festival will feature live performances, interactive media installations, and a marketplace highlighting youth-run businesses. This one-of-a-kind event is designed by and for young people—from production to promotion—spotlighting the innovation and resilience that define the spirit of Chicago youth.

Rooted in the belief that creative platforms can be a catalyst for healing and change, “From the Go Fest” centers three core pillars of impact: Community Connection, Youth Artist Development and Real-World Media Production. This year’s festival is powered by Metropolitan Peace Initiatives.

“It’s more than just a festival, “From the Go Fest” is a year-round commitment to investing in youth voice, talent, and leadership. It’s a movement that turns creative expression into community impact—powered by the next generation, for the next generation,” says DeAnna McLeary Sherman, Co-Founder of True Star Media.

The event is a culmination of work from participants in True Star’s year-round digital media training programs. These programs empower teens to build skills in journalism, film, audio production, graphic design, marketing, and entrepreneurship—opening doors to careers in media while amplifying youth perspectives.
