At this point, anyone who does not see the obvious attempts by the current American regime to purge America of her Black and brown people are delusional. Part of the difficulty for some to see this is the fact that the current president is basically an equal opportunity hater. He has vendettas against any and everyone that he feels has crossed him in one way or another. But the race issue is a constant irritant.
What is race, and why does this topic have the ability to literally shape civilizations? A 1735 classification proffered by Carl Linnaeus, inventor of zoological taxonomy, is said to have divided humanity (Homo Sapiens) into continental varieties of europaeus, asiaticus, americanus, and afer. Each was associated with a different characteristic: sanguine, melancholic, choleric, and phlegmatic, respectively. As is true about anything developed centuries ago, we can look at these divisions with a jaundiced eye.
One of the obvious issues connected with classification theory is that it gives people the opportunity to cast aspersions on the characteristics of the “other.” It screams division, which has morphed into “value” or worth. In other words, some people are “better” than others, according to a bigot’s logic. This comes with the notion that people should stick mainly to their own race. The toxic conclusion is that certain races should not be considered as valuable as others. Connected with this is the idea that people should be separated from each other. One result of this is that those with a greater ability to achieve power, especially of the political and economic variety, have an advantage over those groups that do not place the same kind of value on things that “others” hold dear.
This is one of the reasons that Europeans are basically dominating Earth at this time, especially when it comes to the control of planetary resources. Bigots tend to place a disproportionate value on skin color, and this is probably connected with the idea that black and brown humans have a differ approach to what is important in life. Black people, in particular, have developed societies that are tribal in nature. Their original idea of value does not seem to be connected with the idea of fiat money; their values tend to be connected with land, organic life (animal and human), and relationships.
Europeans, on the other hand, are technoholic and tend to place a greater value on technological development and economics. They use politics as a tool to ensure that they have the lion’s share of whatever resources these items procure for them. They tend to classify everyone who does not hold these same values as inferior. In this regard, they have categorized Black people as inferior because they do not hold the same values. They don’t understand that there are people who value “people-hood” over dollars!
Unfortunately, the planet is suffering from this overly “matter-focused” tendency of the white races to dominate the planet. Certainly, there are benefits related to technology, but experience has shown that the more people focus on materiality, the more the idea of “human value” recedes into oblivion. And the sad thing about this is that some societies that observe this want to be like Europeans for the wrong reasons. They place the materialistic Eurovision at the head of the class!
There is nothing wrong with conveniences provided by technology; we can all benefit. But if we look at the destruction the World Wars have wrought, it can be obviously toxic to humanity (think of the atomic bomb). Technology has revealed the evil lurking in natural processes. Technological societies tend to morph into patterns that are anti-human, and this is what is happening today. What is needed is consolidation: we need a balance between technological AND human development. Technology is designed to serve humanity; humanity was not meant to become a slave to technology. And we must understand that racial bigots like Donald Trump are the immature ones. Black people must realize this and seek to find balance among ourselves first.
