This year marked the eighth edition of Le Dîner en Blanc – Chicago, the elegant and secret affair that is one of the most anticipated social events of the year. Last week, Le Dîner en Blanc popped up at the Picasso in the Daley Center, allowing more than 3,500 guests to enjoy the food and wine scene of the Windy City, as they were adorned in elaborate fashion and with impressive fare for a night of celebration and eating—along with dancing on their private dance floor.

The event offers attendees the perfect occasion to express their unique fashion and design style with their outfits and their decorative table settings. Among the numbers were 3,500 sparklers used and 2,040 bottles of wine and champagne enjoyed.

“Each year, Le Dîner en Blanc – Chicago creates one magical evening celebrating the vibrancy and community of Chicago to the fullest while honoring the deeply rooted traditions of the original Parisian event,” state the hosts of the Chicago event – Brandy Koch, James Wild, Lauren Haras, and Roger Hobby.

In June 2018, Le Dîner en Blanc de Paris marked its 30th anniversary. A record 17,000 guests from Paris and around the world gathered at the Esplanade des Invalides to celebrate this historic moment. Since its Parisian beginning, Le Dîner en Blanc has become a global phenomenon and taken more than 80 cities around the world, including New York, Miami, Sydney, Los Angeles, Singapore, among others.

Chicago held its inaugural event in August, 2012, at the Art Institute. Le Dîner en Blanc – Chicago gratefully acknowledges Glunz Wines as an official local partner and Chateau Ste. Michelle, Citi Bank, and Sofitel as official national partners of the 2019 U.S. series of Le Dîner en Blanc.
