BLACK VOTERS TRIUMPH!!

Screen Shot 2017 12 14 at 1.06.35 PMOften underestimated and ignored, the Black voter was the difference between winning and losing Tuesday night in Alabama. More  than 90 percent of Black males and Black females, with females having the highest number, put Doug Jones over the top. Roy Moore was a pedophile, but he also had a low regard for Blacks. It was almost hilarious when his blonde wife felt that having a Jewish lawyer and him appointing a Black to a post made them not racists.  Ima salutes the Black voters in Alabama and sends a word of advice to the three millionaires and/or billionaires running for the Governor’s seat in Illinois. Play us too close if you will!! Rauner, Pritzker, Kennedy, your fate lies in the hands of Black voters too!!!

CPS HEADED BY A REAL EDUCATOR

Screen Shot 2017 12 14 at 1.06.42 PMIma is reminded of an old number “What a Difference a Day Makes” when we saw an old operative Forrest Claypool booted out at the Chicago Public Schools and replaced by the Deputy CEO, who is Black. Janice Jackson gets high marks in education circles and her sincerity in making a difference in educating our youth will probably be the difference that is needed at CPS. All we say is Janice don’t fall into the money potholes your predecessors did. Ima probably  didn’t have to say that. Barbara Byrd-Bennett got caught up in the money scandal and Claypool got caught up in a lying scandal that involved money, for a crony. Now Janice has the dubious honor of trying to clean up decades of tricks and money deals.  Good luck Janice, Ima is with you.  Let me know if you need any assistance in head knocking, Ima got your back!!

KUDOS TO ERICK

Screen Shot 2017 12 14 at 1.06.49 PMLast Friday the Crusader’s own Erick Johnson was a guest at the 50th year observance of an almost unknown pioneer in the space program. Had it not been for a story that he wrote early last year during Black History month it probably would not have ever happened. The honoree posthumously was Robert Lawrence from Chicago, whose family and friends gathered at Cape Canaveral.  The Black Press, often overlooked and underestimated is being read widely, and for those who doubt the impact and influence of the Black Press, the story that led to Lawrence being honored was in print, not on television, and digital didn’t drive it.  Look for the complete story elsewhere in this issue. So there!! Thanks Erick!!!

LITTLE DID YOU KNOW …

Screen Shot 2017 12 14 at 1.06.58 PMthat after the Mayor of San Francisco died while shopping in a grocery store, he was succeeded by a Sistah, London Breed. I know you didn’t hear much about this, that’s why you have to read the Crusader!!
