Ballet Disruptor, Homer Hans Bryant, Presents New Works to Raise Funds to Support the Next Generation of Dance Excellence
Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center continues to disrupt the dance world with its mega viral Hiplet™ technique, which has reached over 1 Billion views online. Hiplet™, created by Homer Hans Bryant, Artistic Director of the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center, has continued to reach a global audience. Currently, the school is preparing for their first major Chicago performance of 2018 entitled Because We Can.
Because We Can Benefit Performance and Reception, featuring The Bryant Youth Professionals and The Hiplet™ Ballerinas, will take place on Sunday, April 29th at the Museum of Science and Industry. The performance is at 5 p.m., with a reception immediately following at 6 p.m.
“We have had another amazing year leading up to our annual gala and we are very excited to present our new works to the Chicago dance community,” says Homer Bryant. “The gala serves as a great way to not only showcase amazing young dancers but also to raise funds for scholarships. We never want to turn away a student because their family can’t afford tuition. Every ticket sold helps us support the next generation of dance excellence.”
This very special evening will include new works along with excerpts from CMDC’s repertoire from Ballet to Hiplet™. After the performance, guests are invited to meet and mingle with the dancers, the artistic team, and the board of directors at the post reception.
Proceeds will be used to support CMDC initiatives that include providing opportunities for under-served and diverse communities, scholarships, afterschool partnerships and studio enhancements.
