TEACHERS WANTED at annual Teacher Job Fair

The Illinois Network of Charters Schools will host the 2016 Teacher Job Fair on Saturday, March 5 starting with a Meet & Greet at 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; Educational Workshops: 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. and Onsite interviews by invitation only: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the UNO Charter School Network (UCSN)- Veterans Memorial Campus, 4248 W. 47th St., Chicago, IL.

This is an opportunity for job seekers to meet with recruiters from dozens of charter public schools and networks representing over 100 individual campuses across the state.

There are more than 400 positions open in a variety of teaching, school leadership, support, and administrative roles at charter schools in Illinois. Schools are strongly interested in highly-qualified and effective candidates that include: special education teachers; content specialists in math, science, and technology; diverse candidates; career changers; experienced and licensed teachers; and recent college graduates.

Charter schools are unique public schools that are open to all children, do not charge tuition, and do not have special entrance requirements. They have more flexibility and are more innovative and responsive to student and community needs while still being held strictly accountable for performance. Each charter school is different in its mission and school culture, which allows parents to find a school that best fits the needs of their child. Charter public schools also create a partnership between parents, teachers, students, and the local community to improve access to quality schools, create an environment where students can thrive, and raise academic achievement for all children.
