Take Metra to the Chosen Few Festival

By Crusader Staff

The 35th Annual Chosen Few Picnic and Festival returns to Jackson Park on Saturday, July 12, 2025, and Metra is encouraging festivalgoers to skip the traffic and take the train to the Chosen Few Festival celebration of Chicago’s iconic house music culture.

The Chosen Few Picnic and Festival began in 1990 as a small gathering behind the Griffin Museum of Science & Industry. Since then, it has grown into the world’s longest-running event dedicated to Chicago-born house music, attracting more than 40,000 fans each year. The all-day celebration features over 12 hours of music from renowned DJs and special guest performers at the Chosen Few Festival.

Located just steps from the entrance to Jackson Park, Metra’s 63rd Street Station on the Electric Line offers attendees the most affordable and convenient option to reach the festival without the hassle of traffic, surge rideshare pricing, or limited parking.

To make travel even easier, Metra offers a $7 Saturday Day Pass, which allows for unlimited rides on all Metra lines until 3 a.m. Sunday. Riders connecting to CTA or Pace can also purchase the new $9.50 Regional Day Pass through the Ventra app, which includes unlimited regional travel.

Families can take advantage of Metra’s Family Fares, which allow up to three children age 11 and under to ride free with a fare-paying adult.

Festival attendees can purchase event tickets and view the full performance lineup at chosenfewdjs.com.

Metra is a vital transportation resource that reliably connects riders to their homes, jobs, and community events across the Chicagoland area.
