If you plan to attend the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place Feb. 10 through Feb. 19, let Metra take you there.
With Metra’s convenient schedules, getting to the Auto Show has never been easier, especially on the Metra Electric Line, which has a station right on site at McCormick Place. Residents of the South Side of Chicago and the southern suburbs can take a Metra Electric train directly to McCormick Place, and those traveling from or living downtown can make the quick trip from Millennium and Van Buren Street stations to McCormick Place. Getting to the show from Metra’s other downtown stations is easy too, thanks to our friends at the CTA. Special Auto Show buses will run every 12 to 30 minutes weekdays, every 7 to 30 minutes on Saturdays, and every 12 to 30 minutes on Sundays. Buses will operate from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19).
Just look for “To Auto Show McCormick Place” signs on buses and board at the following locations:
- Ogilvie Transportation Center – Board on Clinton Street at Madison Street.
- Chicago Union Station – Board on Clinton Street at Quincy Street or at Jackson Boulevard and the Chicago River.
- LaSalle Street Station – Board on Jackson Boulevard at Financial Place.
- Museum Campus – Board on Columbus at 11th Street.
When it’s time to leave the show, you can board buses for a return trip to your train station at Gate #26 beneath McCormick Place. Just look for buses with the signs: Metra Stations/Via Downtown.
Weekend attendees can save even more money by taking advantage of Metra’s unlimited ride $10 Weekend Pass. Plus, with Metra’s Family Fares, up to three children 11 and under can ride free with an adult.
